A Royal Green Affair29/4/2011
In a bid to reduce the carbon footprint of those watching the royal wedding, we invited residents, tenants and the local community to 'Switch Off' and join us for a private viewing on the 10ft screen in our conference centre: Greenspace, located within Greenhouse.
Guests were invited to come together as part of the larger community – bringing locally sourced, British themed party food and homemade bunting to decorate the event, whilst ensuring a reduction in overall electrical usage in the local area.
A fun day was had by all, ending with music from local band The Coopers, and an ethically sourced BBQ feast.

New Look For Community Allotment17/4/2011
Local residents and tenants revamped Greenhouse's communal allotment space as part of 'growing green' - a community project initiated by sustainable developers Citu.
The “big dig” at Lady Pit Lane Allotments saw around 40 residents and tenants weeding, marking plots, re-furbing a run-down shed and chatting to neighbouring allotment owners who were keen to give handy tips on what to grow.
Rounding off with a well earned BBQ, cooked by our very own resident Chef from Anthony's with produce taken from the courtyard allotments.

Bucking the current stagnant commercial property market, Greenhouse filled 70% of its sustainable office space in less than 6 months of opening – showing an eco-minded approach to business is on the rise.
Tenant feedback has suggested that it is the 'community feel', lower energy bills and CSR commitment that has attracted the fantastic uptake on office space.

It was great to be able to give a visual, relative measurement of the energy we have generated to show how green technologies can lower energy usage.

Hilary Benn unveils UK first in Leeds1/10/2010
The official launch of Greenhouse, the UK's most pioneering low-carbon development, attracted a fantastic turnout over 2 open days, with guests ranging from local businesses, media, and the local community.
From Friday through to Saturday evening, visitors mused around the onsite art exhibition which showcased a range of local talent and mingled amongst ethical market stalls before DEFRA secretary and local MP Hilary Benn unveiled the 2010 plaque - a replica of the original.
The first of what will become an annual event celebrating Beeston's regeneration, took local community members as well as potential residents on an access all areas tour of the development to see exactly how the eco-ethos of the building is embedded into every aspect, from the sun being used to heat hot water, wind being used to power lights and lifts, and rain and waste water being recycled to flush toilets.
